It was an unbelievable game by our young Victorian Under 15 Girls team with a great win over SA blue – a huge result of 13-3 in four innings.
Under 15 Girls: Victoria 13 – SA Blue3
The Victorians came ready to confirm they belong at the top and got four runs early with Kiara Rhind-Luke pitching strongly.
Even with two down Victoria did the damage with the bat, and the final score of 13 – 3 does not really show the true reflection of the skill and domination in the game.
The first hitter for SA Blue hit the ball to the fence. Kaiyan Kopeke-Pereiera threw to Hannah Scott on to Karri Pritchard for the tag out at third.
It was wonderful relaying and team-work, lining up fielders and backing up.
The girls showed how much effort and training has been put onto batting and their bats were on fire.
There was such a display of improvement and development – these girls are definitely the future of softball in Victoria.
A huge shout out goes to the coaching staff (Sharon Jansen, Terri Landt & Kat Laemmle), with Sarah Logan as Team Manager and Caz Di Paola .
A special thanks to Malcolm Jansen (Mr Bus Driver) always ready to help the team out – thanks also for his talented photography skills.
Everyone worked together to get the best out of this young Victorian team.
From trials in July until the final game – having all committed to trials, squad and training to get to Nationals, it was a great performance.
All our volunteers believe that all this hard work is worth every step – it was a very unique experience for all players and officials.
We thank the parents who helped with the heavy commitment for their daughters to play for Softball Victoria.
