SSA names trophy after Victorian Softball Legend Sharon Myhre-Davis

Softball Victoria is delighted to receive the news that the Board of School Sport Australia (SSA) has approved the recommendation to name the trophy for the Girls 17 years and Under Championship ‘The Sharon Myhre-Davis Trophy.’

In a career that spans over 30-years, Sharon Myhre-Davis has made an incredible contribution to softball.

She began her involvement with the sport at a young age playing at primary school and then at the Geelong Softball Association where she is now a life member.

Throughout her softball journey, Sharon made an impact at national level as a Championship Convenor, Official, international tour official and is a tireless advocate for the sport.  

In addition, she has also been Team Manager for a number of Victorian state teams, a member for the Victorian coaching committee and has coordinated numerous Victorian events.

Her dedication and passion to the sport is conveyed in her lengthy resume. Sharon is a popular figure at national tournaments hosted by Victoria, enhancing the events with her superb commentary skills and knowledge of the sport.

Her long term passion and commitment to softball is evident in her widespread service from the grass roots to the elite level.

Sharon will attend the SSA national championships in Western Australia in May 2020 to present the trophy named in her honour to the inaugural Girls 17 Years and under softball champions.
