Congratulations to Geelong Softball Association for winning the Softball Victoria Association of the Year award.
The association finished on top of the Homeplate Ladder for associations nationally in 2019/20, achieved a growth in membership of 14% and retained more than 80% of their members from the previous year.
Geelong Softball Association Secretary Carolyn Christie said she’s delighted to have the association acknowledged with this award.
“It’s extremely special. We’re only a small association and it’s a reward for the hard work on and off the field over many years, and in particular the past couple of years,” Christie said.
“Our association has been committed to increasing our membership and following the junior pathway with Softball Victoria, with Softball Batter Up and Fully Loaded T-Ball programs.”
“We also were involved in Wheelchair Softball in Geelong, delivering three come and try days.”
“Thank you to Softball Victoria for your support in helping us run these programs. I know our members, both parents and juniors, had lots of fun and are itching to get back after the lockdown period.” Christie added.
