Day 6 Nationals – Open Men & U14 Boys

Check out what happened on the sixth day at the Open Men’s National Championships and U14 Boys Regional Championships.

Open Men – Elimination Final:  Victoria 2 – NSW 7

Unfortunately that’s the end of the road for Victoria’s Open Men’s team. After an early lead tonight, NSW fought back strongly to secure the victory (7-2) – leaving Victoria to finish in fourth place overall.

Victoria started well scoring two runs in the top of the second innings, NSW replied with one run in the bottom of the second.

NSW then scored four runs in the bottom of third and a further two runs in the bottom of fifth.

Steven Dawson hit a huge home run in the second innings.

Victoria battled strongly against a very strong NSW team.

It was a good week from a young developing team. We look forward to the continued growth of the team next tournament.

Congratulations on making the finals after a consistent start to the week, well done to the coaches and support staff for their professionalism throughout the campaign.
