Day 1 Wrap – Open Men & Women’s.
In the Men’s Cup, Dandenong, Albury Wodonga and GEMSA all conclude the day on two wins and one loss, as Waverley find themselves winless.
Dandenong are looking dangerous in their bid to go back-to-back, with impressive victories over GEMSA and Waverley.
However, plenty of softball is yet to be played ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s Grand Final.
In the Men’s Plate, (at the time of writing), all four teams sit on one win and one loss.
Frankston defeated Casey in a nail-biter, 11-10, in one of the matches of the day.
It’s anyone’s tournament, all sides must find a little extra spark to win their way into tomorrow afternoon’s Grand Final.
Waverley came out all guns blazing on day 1 and (at the time of writing) are undefeated in the Women’s Cup.
A host of associations including, Dandenong, Knox, Casey and Werribee are all pushing hard for a Grand Final birth, sitting on one win and one loss.
In the Women’s Plate, an even field finds Keilor Park, Sunshine and GEMSAall ending the day on two wins and one loss.
This division is looking likely to go down to the wire, with some key games to be played tomorrow that will shape who will play-off in the Grand Final.
It’s going to be an important evening of rest and recovery, as stakes will be higher than ever tomorrow for these associations aiming for State Championship glory. Some teams can almost taste it, while others have some work to do on day 2.
Day 2 will feature rounds 7-10 being played, followed by the Grand Finals in each division.
