Unseasonal November conditions on Sunday have forced a reshuffle in the 2017 Under 12 Spectacular competition dates.
While the Knox portion of the qualifying events saw a full day of play, players, coaches, officials and support staff at Geelong were not so fortunate, with a washout after just one round of games forcing the Geelong qualifying events to be postponed until Sunday December 10.
In turn, the Under 12 Spectacular Gala Day previously scheduled for December 10 will instead take place on Sunday February 25, 2018 at GEMSA.
Scores for the first round of games at Geelong on Sunday will stand, and games will continue from Round 2. You can find the revised draw for Geelong by clicking here.
While weather played havoc with the games at Geelong, there was an evenly contested competition taking place simultaneously at Knox, with only two of the ten teams involved failing to secure a win.
In a wonderful showcase of the future of Victorian softball, the skill level and standard of play displayed by each team on the day was of an extremely high standard.
Ultimately though, it would be the Monarchs, Lilydale Ejays, Eastern Raiders, GEMSA All Stars and Pinewood Rebels who finished as the top five teams for the Knox qualifying competition, which in turn secured their place in the Under 12 Spectacular Gala Day finals in February.
The remaining three teams to compete in the Gala Day will be finalised following the completion of the Geelong qualifying event.
You can find a complete list of results from completed games at both Geelong and Knox by visiting the Under 12 Spectacular page.
