After a decade-long hiatus from the Under 23 Men’s National Championships competition, Victoria returned to the winner’s list with a victory over New South Wales on Thursday.
Day 2 of the Under 23 Nationals at Redlands in Queensland didn’t start well for the Vics after they were defeated comprehensively by Western Australia, 15-4. After two losses on the opening day of competition, Victoria needed to respond with a strong performance on Thursday night, and respond they did with a confidence-boosting 9-2 victory over their northern rivals.
The Vics will meet New South Wales again on Friday morning at 11:30am, with the winner to keep their finals chances alive.
