U23 Women’s Nationals Update

U23 Women’s Nationals Update

The Under 23 National Championships are taking place this week in Redland, Queensland.

Victoria’s Women’s games have now come to a close on Day 3, check out the recaps from the first three days of action.

Day 1:

It was a good start to Victoria’s campaign, with a strong team batting performance bringing in the runs to defeat Western Australia 8-1.

The Vic’s then lost to New South Wales, 4-1, in a game shortened by lack of light. Victoria was never out of the game and it was unfortunate that the game was called in the top of the 5th innings.

Day 2:

The Vic’s batted their way to victory with a mercy result against ACT 8-0.

The match against Queensland was strongly contested with Victoria’s defence almost impenetrable. Victoria couldn’t score the runners on base throughout the game and Queensland ran out winners, 1-0.

Day 3:

Greeted by glorious sunshine, the Vic’s defeated Western Australia, 7-2. Strong team batting and tight defence again proved to be the winning formula.

Day 4 schedule:

The Girls now look ahead to their two big games on Day 4, which will also be streamed live via Redland Softball Associations Facebook page.
