Softball Victoria is proud to announce the adoption of the newly established Fair Play Code developed by the Victorian Government that outlines the standards of behaviour expected for everyone involved in Victorian sport and recreation.
The Fair Play Code aims to encourage appropriate standards of behaviour to enable every Victorian to be involved in sport and recreation that is safe, welcoming and inclusive. It also includes new integrity, respect, responsibility, fairness and safety guiding principles as well as guidance on responsibilities, breaches and seeking further information. The code will provide guidance to the Victorian softball community on how to help make softball and truly inclusive and safe sport for all Victorians.
Softball Victoria CEO Nick Frayne says the code provides clarity to everyone involved in Victorian softball as to the acceptable standards of behaviour.
“The Victorian Government’s Fair Play Code is a vital guiding document for all members of the Victorian softball community, including players, coaches, administrators, spectators, parents and anyone else that engages in the sport,” Frayne said.
“The code outlines the guiding principles for every person with an involvement in softball in Victoria, however big or small their interaction may be.”
“Everyone involved in Victorian softball should look to these principles; integrity, respect, responsibility, fairness, and safety; when they are participating in a match, watching their child play, coaching a team, serving at the canteen and any other aspect of their engagement with the sport.”
