Quality line-up of statisticians step up to support Women’s Invitational

The Victorian statistician community has stepped up to the plate to support the newest tournament in the SV calendar, the Softball Victoria Women’s Invitational.

Acting as not just an opportunity to network and develop their skills, but also to support elite Victorian female talent, 15 Victorian statisticians have volunteered to help score the inaugural competition.

International scorers Helen Edwards, Jim Giles, Mary Walkinshaw, and Kerryn Bell will bring great knowledge and experience to the team, following various opportunities to score for Australian teams at an international level, including Jim Giles’ appearance with the gold-medal winning Australian U19 Men’s team at the World Series earlier this year.

Allison Pendlebury, Angela Forgan, Lorraine Davies, Lyn Wilmott, Deb Lee, Sue Rigg, and Adele Jenkinson will also all bring many years of experience scoring at a National level to the table.

The competition also provides the opportunity for developing statisticians to develop their skills and gain experience for progression, with Level 3 and 4 statisticians Zoe Carolan, Cathy Weldon, and Tracey Reid all hoping to take away high-level scoring experiences from the tournament.

With Victoria set to host the 2020 U17 Girls and Boys National competitions, the Softball Victoria Women’s Invitational will help to ensure that Victoria is in excellent standing to fulfil the roles required of the statisticians.

Softball Victoria would like to congratulate all of the statisticians below on their selection and thank them for their support of the inaugural Women’s Invitational.
