Open Men’s and under 15 Boys remain in the hunt after Day 3

Victoria has maintained its position in the top four of both the Open Men’s and Under 15 Boys National Championship standings after Day 3 in Hawker, ACT.

The Vics remain in the hunt for the Open Men’s John Reid Shield with a 2-3 record, despite losing their two fixtures on Tuesday afternoon to New South Wales (10-4) and ACT (5-0). They will be looking to rebound when they take to the diamond on Wednesday afternoon, where they will again face New South Wales at 2:00pm before taking on the winless South Australian team at 4:30pm.

Meanwhile, the Victoria’s Under 15 Boys will be looking to continue on with their impressive form when they take on Queensland Thunder at 12:30pm on Wednesday. It shapes as a crucial game in the context of the top four formation in the tournament, with the Thunder sitting one point ahead of the Vics in third spot.

On Tuesday, Victoria split their two games with one win and one loss; going down in a high-scoring affair against Queensland Storm (14-10) before bouncing back with a comprehensive victory over South Australia (18-5).
