Sporting Schools is a national program available to all Australian Primary Schools.
It aims to foster a child’s lifelong interest in sport, gain a healthier mind, and teach sport through fun games and activities.
Sporting Schools will provide primary school children with an opportunity to experience the Softball Batter Up program in their school environment.
Softball Batter Up incorporates skill activities, minor games, and modified games in a fun and safe environment. The program is coordinated by endorsed softball coaches to ensure a quality experience for all participants.
Softball Batter Up can be delivered and tailored to suit the age and needs of students. The activities align with the national health and physical education curriculum and are written with coaches and teachers in mind. Detailed information is provided on each activities learning intention, band levels, and skill focus, together with questions to encourage participant engagement.
Benefits of the program include:
· giving children an opportunity to try Softball
· creating close relationships with schools
· the opportunity to link children to community Softball Association programs and competitions for ongoing participation.
We are seeking to bolster our Sporting School Coach workforce. Get involved as a coach and you can earn money coaching Softball at primary schools on behalf of Softball Victoria.
