Victoria has taken a step closer to a finals berth in both the Women’s and Men’s Under 19 National Championships following a successful Day 4 at Blacktown.
Victoria’s Women’s team were particularly impressive on Day 4, securing two comprehensive wins to stamp their authority on the competition. Their first was a defeat in the morning of ACT 10-0, before keeping Western Australia scoreless in a 6-0 victory.
With four wins on the board, the Vics now only need to win one of their final two round robin matches on Friday against either South Australia (2:30pm) or New South Wales (7:00pm) to solidify third spot and a semi final berth on Saturday.
The Men’s team on the other hand secured their second victory for the tournament against Western Australia; this time winning 15-8. They couldn’t quite make it two wins on the trot on Thursday evening, going down to ACT 13-6.
Nevertheless, the Vics will lock down fourth spot and semi final berth if they can defeat the boys from the West for a third time at 2:00pm on Friday, before taking on the undefeated New South Wales at 4:30pm.
