Black Storm and Navy Blues set for SVWI Grand Final showdown

After six weeks of outstanding competition, the Navy Blues and the Black Storm have earned their place in the inaugural Softball Victoria Women’s Invitational Grand Final at Northern Districts Softball Association on Wednesday evening.

Led by star pitcher Dale Stocker, the Black Storm have been the most consistent team throughout the competition, entering the Grand Final as slight favourites. Throughout the competition, the Storm have made it very difficult for the opposition to score against them. Giving up only nine errors across the tournament and with seven players fielding at 0.9 or above, their agility in the field is a huge weapon.  The Storm have also been solid with the bat, producing 24 runs from 31 hits and five players batting at .333 or above for the tournament.

Conversely, the Navy Blues have shown flashes of brilliance, despite a less consistent week-to-week performance. With five batters batting at 0.333 or above and eight fielders averaging 0.9 or above for the tournament, the Navy Blues would be quietly confident of performing very well on the big stage, with Victorian Titan Jackie Di Siervi leading the way from short stop.

The Grand Final commences at 7:00pm, with the live stream will kick off at 6:45pm on the Softball Victoria Facebook page with exclusive access to some pre-game insights. At the conclusion of the game, team and individual awards will be announced, including the announcement of the All-Star Team of the Tournament.
